Nearly a decade ago, Priyanka embarked on a creative journey, co-founding The Curio Story with a like-minded friend. Their mission was to bring the hidden treasures of rural India to the forefront, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of artisans from Dakshin Karnataka, Coastal Tamilnadu, Gujarat, Bengal, and beyond. As they navigated the demands of entrepreneurship, they also balanced their personal lives, juggling exhibitions and offline sales with the rigors of raising teenagers.
One of the most significant hurdles they faced was crafting compelling catalogs that did justice to each artifact's unique story. Hours were spent pouring over research, delving into the distinctive characteristics of each piece. The process of creating PowerPoint presentations for every item was labor-intensive, yet essential to showcasing the beauty and significance of these artisanal treasures.
That led to exploring AI-generated presentations, but they lacked personal touch and flexibility. What they needed was a solution that would provide a starting point, allowing them to add their creative input while saving time. She says, “As the co-founder of The Curio Story and Empowerpoint, alongside my husband Shreos, who handles the technical aspects, I've combined my passion for art and entrepreneurship. With a master's degree in Microbiology, I've found my true calling in the world of handmade contemporary jewellery, studio pottery, and artistry, empowering local artisans.”
