including four children, and left dozens more injured. As drones and missiles approached the capital city, explosions were heard in all ten districts, and among the areas struck were residential areas, energy infrastructure, and even diplomatic sites. As a result of the attacks, a five-story residential building partially collapsed, and even the EU Delegation office and the British Council sustained damage, but thankfully, none of the staff members were hurt.

Ukrainian officials reported that their air defense intercepted most of the incoming aerial threat and managed to shoot down 563 drones and 26 missiles. However, 13 projectiles still managed to penetrate the defense, which caused most of the damage and fatalities, and the debris from the projectiles scattered across 26 locations. While the overall offensive has died down a bit since the conflict began, Russia has continued to launch bigger and bigger aerial attacks, with this one being the most devastating citywide attack since the war began in 2022.

As usual, the response to the attack was widespread condemnation, with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy saying Russia “chooses ballistics instead of the negotiating table.” Other EU leaders also spoke strongly against this new attack and urged President Putin to come to the negotiating table instead of continuing the war.
