Abraham Quiros Villalba is one such person, whose origins are very humble. Yet his devotion to his principles and his work ethic took him far beyond what anyone would have expected of him. Today we will look at his life, and his achievements and see what we can learn from his example.
He was born on April 12, 1975, to a very humble family in Costa Rica. Belonging to a poor family there was not much for Abraham to do and life was very simple, yet he was always curious of things around him, even from such a young age and this curiosity only grew as he grew.
Coming from a poor family his parents could not give him much and in terms of luxuries he had little in life. But they instilled in him a strong work ethic and a never-ending drive to achieve his goals, even more, they instilled in him a love for nature and humanity.
In terms of early education, Abraham didn’t have many options but he did have access to a school and he made the most of it by studying at the local school in San Jose. In school, he excelled in all subjects that he studied and did exceptionally well in math and science.
Even in school his teachers recognized his potential and knew he was destined for greatness and hence greatly encouraged him to make his dreams into reality. After graduating high school with honors, he chose to join the University of Costa Rica on a merit-based scholarship.
Just as Abraham Quiros Villalba was in school, he excelled in university as well where he studied electrical engineering. He excelled not only in theory but also in the practical sciences and acquired all the skills that he would later need in his professional career.
Abraham Quiros Villalba always had a love for Mother Nature and he saw how energy being produced from fossil fuel was destroying the environment and even with all the fossil fuels burning there wasn't enough electricity being provided to many areas of his country.
Abraham Quiros Villalba knew the only way to fix this problem was through renewable energy. Not only would it provide a lasting source of electricity but it will be helpful to the environment as well and would also cut down on the cost of the fossil fuel.
Of the many sources of renewable energy available, Abraham Quiros Villalba chose solar energy as his main source of energy production. Hailing from a country where sunshine was plenty all year round, he knew he could make efficient and effective use of it.
His next challenge was to lower the cost of solar power production as he knew that his country was not as affluent as others and that not everyone could afford solar energy. So, he got to work innovating and reworking the technology used in solar energy.
But he needed more help and knowledge and he chose to get a master's degree in this particular field from a prestigious university in Europe. As with every other level of education he had gotten, he graduated again with the highest honors, and in the process of doing so, he made new links.
Not only did he now have the knowledge and skills but also the links to get the latest technology and most importantly benefactors who could fund his research and ultimately his project. It did not take long for him to succeed and soon he was producing solar energy at a massive level.
His impact on the sector of renewal energy in general and solar energy is huge, as he was able to not only bring down the cost of equipment and technology associated with solar energy but also able to set up a system that was both efficient and quick to set up at a massive level and not long after, his method became the industry standard.
Abraham Quiros Villalba is not only honored in his country and but also among his peers and the scientific community as a whole. Moreover, he has become an inspiration for those who want to preserve our planet through science and technology and most importantly through hard work and dedication.
